Boats Ireland To France

How and why all the European institutions is different from folk music to reach these shores?
Yes, I know that Songs of Scotland "Auld Lang Syne" and "Amazing Grace" are known here and elsewhere, the hymns of the world's premier, but are less beautiful rich tapestry of Scotland music and singing. To a lesser extent the "Skye Boat Song" and "Loch Lomond" The Americans know too, but in this country knows nothing folk music of France, Wales, Italy, Romania or other European countries with the possible exception of Ireland? Unfortunately the mysterious absence of the cultural landscape of American citizens deprived of the opportunity to listen to some of the most beautiful in the world of music and song that is in an ideal world, should now be the saturation of the airwaves. Would not it be great if young people hear the music throughout the United States in the real world instead of garbage and trash that currently bombarding your ears?
European folk music was quite popular in Years 1950, when Top 40 radio was invented and developed a new musical style called "rock and roll" in the homes of all Americans. After then, almost nobody wanted to listen to popular music, much less play or sing. A mid to late 1960s, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez, and many other popular music back in the mainstream. They recorded their version of traditional folk songs and folk songs they have style writing. In the 1970s, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, James Taylor, and many other popular singers became popular. They were influenced by Dylan and other folks of the 1960s, however, all those who wrote their own songs. It is not enough to sing traditional folk songs. If want credibility as a folk singer, who had to write their own songs, which shows that not only the talent but the talent and writing voice. This trend has continued until today, with "people" Today singers Ani DiFranco, Dar Williams, Jewel, etc which are the singer-songwriters rather than traditional melodies. However, there are still singers and bands out there that still run traditional songs. Crooked Still is one such group. I encourage you to check them out!
