You can start with exploring the Future World inside the Spaceship Earth with time machines that with interactive touch screens allow you to visualize what tomorrow will mean for your future. You can take a journey from prehistoric man through the Industrial Revolution and the Age of Information to foresee what the future will hold. With interactive games and play areas you can enjoy a glimpse at tomorrow.
In the World Showcase area of the park you can experience the culture and cuisine of eleven countries: Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Norway, United Kingdom and the United States. Each pavilion will allow you to explore ancient civilizations and discover sites pertinent to each country.
Authentic representations of each country’s cultural and geographic landscapes will be seen as well as typical restaurants to be found in each country as follows:
- Canada – A film presentation takes you across this magnificent country while the architecture showcases the Canadian Rockies with a 30 foot waterfall and carved totem poles. A Celtic rock band will entertain you and shopping includes folk art and pewter.
- China – In this pavilion you will find tomb sculptures dating back 2000 years along with a typical temple and beautiful gardens. Sights in the film will include The Forbidden City and the Great Wall. Dragon Legend Acrobats or a musical show offer entertainment and shopping including typical Chinese wares.
- France – A replica of the Eiffel Tower will greet you in this pavilion along with quaint shops and typical architecture. Its film portrays the beauty of the French countryside and showcases the art and culture of this country. Street performers offer entertainment and shopping includes fragrances, soaps and dinnerware.
- Germany – An oom-pah band or an Oktoberfest Bavarian music show offer entertainment while you explore a typical 16th century German town. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will make appearances and shopping includes a toy store and crystal jewelry.
- Italy – Take a trip to Venice at the Italian pavilion that includes gondolas and a replica of St. Mark’s Square. You will be entertained by acting troupes and other musicians along with characters from Pinocchio while you shop for fine leather or jewelry.
- Japan – As you enter through a torii gate you will find beautiful gardens and koi ponds for a stunning look at Japan. You can enjoy candy animals made for you or see the Kitahara Collection of Tin Toys while taiko drummers entertain you. You will find Samurai swords and bonsai trees and other Japanese goods for sale.
- Mexico – Enter through an Aztec Temple to a colonial plaza featuring market wares while being entertained with folk art woodcarvings and Mariachis. Take a boat ride on the lagoon as well!
- Morocco – A minaret leads the way to this pavilion that features a new city and an old city. With belly dancers to entertain while you dine you will also see Aladdin, Princess Jasmine and Genie roaming the area while you shop for a fez, leather sandals or brass pots.
- United Kingdom – With cobblestoned streets representative of a typical British village, you can be entertained by a Beatles tribute band that performs regularly and a Hat Lady at the Rose & Crown Pub or an improve troupe provide more fun. You can shop for medieval castles or swords or teapots.
United States – With Colonial style architecture showing Independence Hall in Philadelphia and Boston’s Old State House you will hear the Voice of Liberty along with a fife and drum corps while shopping for historical documents and other American goods.
