Is it legal to have your permanent residence be on a boat?
Like a nice big motorboat somebody could own and live inside it as their house (like this one I found on Google Images – http://img.nauticexpo.com/images_ne/photo-g/motor-boat-mega-yacht-44609.jpg ). They could drive it back to shore to get food and things, but then they would drive it back out to the ocean and leave it anchored there during the day and night. Would there be any legal issues in doing this? Thanks!
As somebody mentioned already, you’ll need a PO box foir your mailing address. Your boat would be classed as a ‘no fixed abode’ address for anything legal, such as welfare claims, taxation items, court appearances or other court issues, etc., etc.
