Narrow Boats Skipton
Narrow Boats Skipton

narrowboat holidays skipton?
I have never had a narrow boat holiday and would like rural scenery and friendly pubs, would Skipton be a good starting point or have you any suggestions
skipton is a lovely town, if you travel east on the canal its quite industrial and can be a little plain with not that good scenery. travelling west is a little better for the scenery and doesnt get industrail until you get closer to manchester.
if you truly want rural scenery and lots of stopping points with small village and hamlets to visit you really need to try the kennet and avon canal, that is a very lazy and quiet canal ideal for total relaxation. or,glasgow to edinburgh (falkirk wheel). superb scenery.
if im honest, skipton is really lovely and lends itself well to narrow boats, but when you leave skipton it all just seems a bit lack lustre and down hill from there.
