Lion Batteries Supplier – Choose the true battery supplier for you
Every individual requires some power to work and that power get finished as you do more of work. Machines also work on the same principle. They need power either in form of electricity or through some kind of battery. In a battery chemical energy get converted to electrical energy. They can be primary (disposable) or secondary (rechargeable).
A large no of battery suppliers from all over the world manufacture the different kinds of batteries for automobiles. Among these batteries, some are marine batteries to be used exclusively in marine/boat or recreational applications. Marine batteries have sealed construction to avoid spillage and are deep cycled. Deep cycle batteries mean they give real deep cycle performance. They use high density thick active plates. The alloy used for these plates have more amount of antimony. These batteries are designed to discharge maximum up to 80% of charged capacity. Sometimes they are also in hybrid form where such thick plates are not used. Such hybrid varieties cannot be discharged beyond 50% of its capacity.
Basically there are three types of batteries to be used which further can be modified or could made hybrid according to the required conditions. These are flooded, gel and AGM (absorbed glass mat) batteries.
Flooded batteries are the most common type of batteries which is available in many sizes and designs. In marine conditions; these are not sealed so that their electrolyte can be replenished. As they are not sealed extra care has to be taken to avoid its contact with the user and sea water.
Gel batteries as the name itself indicates uses a gel like electrolyte. This electrolyte is made up of mixing sulphuric acid with silica fumes which make it gel like and thus made the electrolyte immobile. Due to the stable electrolyte it’s not necessary to keep them in upright position. This same property makes them highly resistant to shock, high temperatures and vibrations. Even if the battery is cracked or breached, cell continues its work thus avoiding spillage and electrolyte evaporation. These batteries are mainly used in power wheelchairs due to their low gas and acid emission. Gel batteries are sealed so cannot be refilled by electrolyte and they use low voltage as compared to flooded cell batteries.
AGM (absorbed glass mat) batteries are most evolved in the lead acid batteries. Here fiber glass is used which act as separator to hold the electrolyte in its place. These batteries are also spill proof, impact resistant because of the physical bond between fibers, lead plates and container. As they cannot leak or crack due to immobile electrolyte they are used for remote sensors in arctic region. They can easily withstand cold environment. Being a bit expensive, they are used in premium vehicles to provide electrical reliability. Their property of being vibrant resistant, make them suitable for auto racing vehicles. These batteries have certain advantages over gel batteries in recreational vehicles, like their reserve capacity and cranking performance is better than gel technology.
All such batteries are rechargeable so one need proper devices for their charging called chargers or rechargers. During charging, hydrogen is emitted therefore battery should be kept in open ventilated areas. One has to be cautious during their handling as they could leak or explode that could even take your lives.
