How can I get my boat faster remote control?

I wwant to my old RC boat faster Operates on 4 AA batteries, but I tried the engine of my cordless drill and dads was very fast, but there was no way to get the battery in the boat and I had two 9V batteries and line em, but the engine runs only slowly in water, the batterys are just cheap, I wonder if thaats somthing to do with it, I am thinking of buying these: = 1272212354 & http://www.amazon.co.uk/Energizer-26177-Rechargeable-9v-Battery/dp/B000IWXVU6/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid SR = 1.23 X 2, please tell me if it works or is just a waste of money?
