Renting a Boat!!!
Before renting a boat be sure to first research and compare watercrafts, so you can choose one thats right for you. Next make sure to choose a reputable company as we have heard of horror stories of unethical companies. In Muskoka, we suggest http://www.northernlakesmarine.com , they are muskoka’s leader in boat and sea doo rentals. They also specialize in jet boat rentals. After choosing a company, make sure that the boat your getting will suit the needs of your rental duration.
Upon delivery be sure to evaluate the condition thoroughly and be sure to mention any issues you see with the rental company. Its imperative that the watercraft you rent is scrutinized for damage prior to the rental. Next go over all of the rules and guideline and be sure to have the company give you a tutorial on how to use the particular boat in question. Can you help me ID a 1940′s float plane I saw on a lake?
A man flew into a lake-front party this weekend in Muskoka, Ontario. At the party, I overheard that the plane was from the 1940′s (party resored … new engine, but I think the body was original) … here’s all I know:
- it was shaped like a wasp: fat cockpit and fat tail, but a thin section connecting the two along the lower side
- there were no floats — the plane itself floated like a boat. The doors opened about 2 feet above the waterline. he took off in about 200 feet
- it was a smallish four seater
- it was all metal — gleaming metal
- the prop was right behind the cabin
- the landing gear folded up beside/into the cabin structure. it was visible but streamlined with the cabin area (sorry if I’m using the wrong words)
I’d love to learn more about this type of plane! Thanks for any help.
